It’s back to school time 2020 style! This year certainly isn’t a typical year, but our schools are still in need of supplies for the kids who are returning to the building in September. I spoke to Ms. Holland, the principal at Lee M. Waid Elementary, and they are hoping to provide all of the supplies needed for in school instruction, so that parents will only have to buy the supplies that will be needed at home for the days that their student(s) are engaging in distance learning. Ms. Holland also mentioned there is a need for pre-filled water bottles (like the kind you buy by the case in stores) as students will not be able to use the water fountains this year to drink out of or to fill reusable water bottles. This is a tangible way for us as a church to show God’s love to our local students, teachers and staff, so let’s not miss the opportunity!

The items that are needed are the ones in the “Other items” category of each grade. If you want to contribute, but don’t want to or can’t go out and get supplies, you can contact the church and donate money directly to be used to purchase supplies for the school.
If you are good with sewing, LMW also needs face masks for kids!
